Morrie Sheets, a Wichita native, is a licensed real estate broker with 36 years of experience in commercial real estate. Morrie began his career in 1982 after graduating from the University of Kansas, working for Dan and Frank Carney, founders of Pizza Hut, and assisting their families and associates with real estate needs across the United States. Over his career, Morrie has located more than 1,925 restaurant sites nationwide—in every state except Alaska—representing prominent brands such as Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Church’s & Popeye’s, Lonestar Steakhouse, Joe’s Crab Shack, Morton’s, Landry’s Seafood, Chipotle, Max & Erma’s, Red Robin, Wendy’s, Del Frisco Double Eagle, Drury Inn Hotels, and over 220 Rent-A-Center developments.
After leaving the brokerage business in 1999, Morrie joined Colby Sandlian and the Carney family trust to develop mini-storage facilities under the U-Stor LLC brand. Acting as broker and general contractor, Morrie built 20 facilities totaling over 1.6 million square feet across five states. In 2009, U-Stor sold its portfolio to an investment group. After 30 years with the Carney family, Morrie joined Hartman Group of Companies in 2009, serving as VP and Director of Operations for 11 years.

Morrie also founded Exec-U-Stor condominiums, a co-op concept for storage tailored to car, boat, and collector enthusiasts. Both Wichita locations sold out before groundbreaking. Morrie has since consulted on 11 additional facilities in Texas and Colorado and is currently expanding the brand with two new facilities slated for 2022, alongside warehouse distribution centers in Wichita.

In addition to real estate, Morrie has co-owned businesses, including six Jimmy’s Egg locations in Wichita and El Dorado, Sheet’s Creek and Mort’s Martini and Cigar Bar, rated Kansas #1 bar in sales per square foot for the past 26 years. He is a managing partner of two A-OK Pawn Shops with Colby Sandlian, a partner in New Image Roofing and Construction Company, and an investor in numerous shopping and office buildings.

Morrie graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies with an emphasis on Psychology and Religion from the University of Kansas. He served as President of the Wichita CCIM Chapter in 1990.
