In 2020, ReeceNichols and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Kansas City created the Gold Key Project to raise money for families with sick children. RMHC reduces the burden of childhood illness on families by providing a convenient place to stay while their child receives critical medical care. ReeceNichols Gold Key Agents donate $100 - enough for one night's stay at RMHC - for every home they help buy or sell from April through October, while Prosperity Home Mortgage lenders cover the cost of food for a family with every mortgage closed.

Since the pilot program's launch, ReeceNichols has donated $946,465 to RMHC of Kansas City, the Ozarks, the Four States, and Wichita - enough for 8,269 free nights for families to be near their sick children. That includes a $50,000 donation in 2021 to help create the newest RMHC-KC Family Room at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and $50,000 in 2022 to renovate four rooms at RMHC-KC's Longfellow House.

As part of this groundbreaking program, our ReeceNichols agents work tirelessly to find the perfect home for you. Each home purchased or sold with a Gold Key Agent allows a family with a hospitalized child to stay one night at a Ronald McDonald House Charities. So when you and your agent close on your forever home, you help a local family.

In 2021, ReeceNichols expanded the Gold Key Project to include four local Ronald McDonald House Charities. Our shared values and commitment to finding families homes makes for the perfect partnership, bringing hearts and homes together for a greater purpose. ReeceNichols and RMHC hope to make an even greater difference in our communities.

Love Provides Strength

Zion Onyango couldn't be by her parents' side for her first hours of life. Instead, she lay in the NICU with wires and tubes sticking out of her body.

Because she was born months early, she came into the world with a myriad of health problems. Though the tubes would be enough for a little while, doctors knew that she needed to go to a hospital better equipped to handle her needs. That hospital was in Kansas City, a long drive from her hometown of Joplin.

But Eric and Ann, Zion's parents, didn't want to be apart from their daughter again. Luckily, they could stay close to her thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. And now that she's received the care she needs to come home, the Onyango family can continue to be together.
