Morrie is a licensed real estate broker with over 40 years experience in commercial real estate. After graduating from the University of Kansas in 1982, Morrie began working for Dan and Frank Carney, founders of Pizza Hut, their families and friends dealing with their real estate needs across the United States since 1999, while in the commercial brokerage business he has located over 3,000 restaurant/hotel/retail sites nationwide, in every state with the exception of Alaska. He represented Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Church’s & Popeye’s, Lonestar Steakhouse, Joe’s Crab Shack, Morton’s, Landry’s Seafood, Chipotle, Culvers, Max & Erma’s, Red Robin, Wendy’s, Del Frisco Double Eagle, Drury Inn Hotels, and over 220 Rent-A-Center developments. After leaving the brokerage business, he joined with Colby Sandlian and the Carney family trust to begin building mini-storage facilities known as U-Stor LLC. Morrie, acting as the broker/general contractor, built 22 facilities totaling over 1.6 million square feet in 5 different states. In 2009, U-Stor was approached by an investment group and decided to sell. After 30 years with the Carney family, Sheets joined Hartman Group of companies in 2009 and served as VP and Director of Operations for 11 years. 

Morrie founded Exec-U-Stor condominiums, a concept of co-op ownership of condo storage for cars, boats, and collector enthusiasts. Both facilities in Wichita were sold out before groundbreaking. He has been a consultant on development for 11 other facilities in Texas and Colorado. The brand is expanding, and Morrie is building two additional facilities in 2026 along with several other warehouse distribution centers in the Wichita area.

A life-long resident of Wichita, Morrie graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel high school. He received a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis on Psychology and Religion from the University of Kansas. Sheets served as President of the Wichita CCIM Chapter in 1990.

Morrie is a former co-owner of Jimmy’s Egg of Wichita and El Dorado, consisting of 6 locations, and is currently co-owner of Mort’s Martini and Cigar Bar, rated Kansas’ #1 bar in sales psf for past 30 years, owner of A-OK Pawn Shops , co-owner of Sheets Creek and investor in numerous shopping and office buildings. In addition, Morrie also advises several trusts and financial institutions, helping manage and optimize their real estate portfolios.
